Hunter Foster, Lisa Brescia & More Set for Roundabout's Ordinary Days

Tony nominee Hunter Foster, Lisa Brescia, Jared Gertner and Kate Wetherhead will take the Roundabout Underground stage for the company’s upcoming production of Ordinary Days. The new musical by Adam Gwon begins performances October 2 at Roundabout’s 62-seat Black Box space at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. The show, directed by Marc Bruni, officially opens October 25.

Ordinary Days will feature Brescia as Claire, Foster as Jason, Gertner as Warren and Wetherhead as Deb. From the bustling streets to the quiet rooftops, Ordinary Days tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives are unexpectedly interconnected by circumstance. The series of fortuitous events in this intimate musical proves that ordinary days can be simply extraordinary.

Foster’s Broadway credits include The Producers, a Tony Award nominated turn in Little Shop of Horrors, Urinetown, Les Miserables, Greese, Footloose and King David. Off-Broadway he has been seen in Happiness, Frankenstein, Dust, Modern Orthodox, Urinetown. Regional theater includes Kiss of the Spider Woman (Signature Theatre), The Government Inspector (Guthrie), Mister Roberts (Kennedy Center), Children of Eden (Paper Mill Playhouse), Moon Over Buffalo (Cape Playhouse) and Lend Me a Tenor (Cape Playhouse).

Brescia has appeared on Broadway as Elphaba in Wicked. She has also been seen on the Rialto in Aida and Jesus Christ Superstar. Additional credits include Twyla Tharp’s The Times They Are A-Changin’ and The Woman in White. Regional credits include the Kennedy Center’s Side Show (Violet), The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown, Evita, The Last 5 Years, A Little Night Music and Brigadoon.

Gertner made his Broadway debut in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Off-Broadway credits include Don't Quit Your Night Job, Anatomy 1968, Corduroy, My Favorite Year Regionally, has starred in Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors (Paper Mill Playhouse), The Happy Elf (First Stage Milwaukee) and the premiere of Ordinary Days (Pennsylvania Centre Stage).

Wetherhead’s Broadway credits include Legally Blonde and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Off-Broadway work includes Wood, Sarah Plain and Tall, Cam Jansen and Summer of the Swans. Regional credits include Emmett Otter’s Jugband Christmas (Goodspeed) and Steel Magnolias (Williamstown Theatre Festival).

Gwon began an internship at Roundabout after college graduation in 2001 and went on to become an associate in the development office. He continued to write musicals while working at Roundabout and he is currently a teaching artist with the company. Gwon is the winner of the 2008 Fred Ebb Award for Excellence in Musical Theater Songwriting.
